The Planning Commission meets a minimum of 4 times per year and is responsible for developing/reviewing the master plan and zoning ordinance to protect and enhance the public health, safety and welfare of the Township. Other duties include review of various land use applications such as site plans, special use permits, and rezoning requests. The current vacancy requires a qualified elector of the Township. Commissioners are compensated for attendance at conferences, workshops, education and training programs and meetings.

Full-time, year-round position ensuring adherence to the cemetery ordinance, working professionally and courteously with funeral homes, contractors and the public, opening/closing grave sites. Additional duties include working with other grounds staff to provide groundskeeping and facility/equipment maintenance to the cemeteries, park and township hall under the direction of the Township Board and supervision of the Township Supervisor. Rate of pay $23/hour.

BOARD OF REVIEW ALTERNATES - posted 2/10/2026
Up to two (2) alternates are being sought. The Board of Review is a mandated, three-member citizen panel (often with alternates) appointed to ensure equitable property tax assessments. The BOR reviews property assessments, hears taxpayer appeals on property values/classifications and handles clerical errors and hardship exemptions.
Members:
Must be property taxpayers of Indianfields Township
Are appointed to serve terms of 2 years beginning at noon January 1 of each odd-number year
Must take the constitutional oath of office within 10 days after appointment
May not be a member of the Indianfields Township Board of Trustees
May not be a spouse, mother, father, sister, brother, son, or daughter, including an adopted child, of the assessor
May not be a local school board member or county commissioner
May not serve on another board of review
Must receive training approved by the State Tax Commissioner at least once every two years
Serve at meetings held in March, July and December
Receive compensation for attending BOR meetings and trainings
